I currently own a similar square to the Benchmark Tools 6 inch Precision Double Square (you may have seen it in our videos), but unfortunately, it is no longer available. However, this one from Benchmark Tools appears to be very similar in its features.  As a woodworker, a reliable and accurate square is essential for project success. From setting up machinery to checking wood for squareness, a square like this one is a necessary tool in the wood shop.

Here are some reasons this square stands out to me. First, this square has a no-glare satin chrome stainless steel blade which makes it easy to view under shop lights. Reflections are an issue under my shop lights, so I look for less reflective surfaces. Second, the blades are hardened and tempered, which means they should be able to withstand the daily use in a wood shop.

Accuracy is of utmost importance when it comes to squares, and the Benchmark Tools 6 inch Precision Double Square is manufactured to meet EEC Class 1 accuracy standards. It is guaranteed to be square to within 0.002 (two thousandths of an inch) over the length of each blade.

The blade markings are precision photo etched and then black filled for easy readability. The markings are marked to 1/64″ and 1/32″ on one side and 1/8″ and 1/16″ on the reverse, providing versatility for various measuring needs.

Finally, the square heads lock down tight via a locking knob, providing a secure hold during use. Overall, from what I can tell, the Benchmark Tools 6 inch Precision Double Square appears to be a well-made and reliable tool that would be a great addition to any wood shop. -Chuck
