Don’t do what I did. I took a shortcut on the lathe and it was hazardous. It could have been worse, but fortunately I was wearing protective gear. If there’s one thing to take away from this video, it is to always wear your protective gear. Things can happen in the blink of an eye. This explosion was so quick that even the 4K cameras struggled to capture it.
The setting is at our woodworking shop at our homestead.

Lately, it’s been cold in the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania so I’ve been working in the shop. I hope you’ll join me as I lathe turn a segmented bowl. The finished bowl measures about 15-3/4” wide by 9” deep. It is a mixture of locally sourced hardwoods.
