Cherry Log Fail on Wood Mizer Sawmill

Chuck had a frustrating day at the sawmill

Cherry Log Fail

Did you ever feel like a job was never going to be completed?  This log fought me all the way today.

I loaded the log with the Bobcat S250 skid steer.  This is a great piece of machinery.  It is small enough to fit in tight spots and has excellent power for its size.

Once the log was on the sawmill, I noticed that it was a little too wide for the saw.  Out came the Stihl 661C chainsaw to take care of the problem.

After I started sawing the log, I got the blade stuck and had to adjust the log a little.  I thought I had corrected this problem, but apparently, I was wrong.

Next, the sawmill decided it was not getting enough fuel.  Turns out, my fuel pump was not functioning.  Off to the store I went (with much frustration).  Returned from the store, replaced the fuel pump, and started the sawmill again.

Once again, the saw got stuck.  Check out the video for the remainder of my frustrating moments.

Even after all this, I can say I still love my work.  Thanks for checking out my video. – Chuck

Carhartt Loose Fit Firm Duck Insulated Bib Overalls for Men – These overalls are one of our favorites.  Carhartt is a well known name and well worth the money.  We own many pairs of these and they hold up to days of tough work while keeping you warm.  We have several of these pairs that are now several years old.  One of the best things about overalls is you can easily add or remove top layers for those days when the weather is in between temperatures.

ROCKY BearClaw 3D GORE-TEX Insulated Hunting Boots for Men  These are the boots that Chuck wears.  They last longer than any other type of boot that he has owned.  He claims these are the warmest boots he has ever owned, too.  Highly recommend.

West Chester  Men’s String Knitted Gloves, 12-Pack These are some of the best gloves for working around the homestead.  Very reasonably priced and you can extend their life by washing them a couple times before they are totally worn out.  Around our homestead, gloves are used daily. The nice thing about these gloves is they contour to your hand without the bulk like some gloves.
