This is a great chicken waterer for peeps and young pullets. I would not recommend it for larger birds as they tend to knock it over. The jar is a simple mason jar and the watering part is galvanized steel. Having the small watering space for young birds deters them from stepping in the water and soiling it. These waterers are meant to last and we have some that are over ten years old.
