Organic Royalty Purple Pod Bush Bean Seeds

ORGANIC ROYALTY PURPLE POD BUSH BEAN SEEDS (Phaseolus vulgaris).  These seeds were introduced in 1957 by E. M. Meader at the University of New Hampshire.  The 5-6” pods are a bright purple color.  When cooked, the pods turn dark green. 

Seeds will germinate in cold, wet soil.  Seeds can be started indoors or direct seed.  Plant 1” deep and 4” apart.  Seeds will germinate in 7-10 days.  Soil needs to be well-drained and rich in organic matter.  Nutritional value of soil needed is moderate.   Water needs are moderate during growth and heavier at harvesting period.  Beans require full sunlight and need 50-60 days to mature.
